time changes in berlin. i always forget that. maybe it is riding around on bicycles, maybe it is that everyone in prinzlauerberg is a bit more relaxed than the freneticism of NY, or maybe it is that I finally feel like i can slow down to have the very nice beers, and appreciate the performance of everyday life.

I have been exposed to Laibach since I have been here. Wolfgang, from discoteca flaming star, has been showing me the finer points of the band. No doubt I am well behind others in their appreciation of this phenomenal group, but I have to say, it is never too late to learn…

And Berlin’s speed allows me some time to work on some new audio, to refine it, and hopefully post it soon. I have been preparing for a residency of sorts in barcelona at hangar, learning about the vocoder (I had no idea it was harnessed by Turing for encoding transmission during the second world war. Churchill’s voice was used as an test), and finishing up the sound design for a film with Rosario Dawson called Descent.

More soon, as I hope to be trying to blog a bit more regularly now tha time has expanded…

after logging just a few days… just to say that barcelona is a great city, despite its growing cost…

hangar seems great, and might be spending some time there as a resident of sorts for august, depending on the weather…

this weekend, myspace was hacked and thousands of pages were redirected to a blog containing a tirade about how the US government was behind the attacks of september 11. the link has been taken down, but the 6000+ comments made were encouraging…discourse is not bullshit.
the clear and present dangerous absurdity of my president, with his callous, aggressive and abusive desires, and his supposed christian demagoguery has finally begun to eek to the surface. with his mouth full of the bullshit he talks…
